The Robertson County Players announce open call auditions for their finale to the 2014 season. Under the direction of Connie Smith with musical director Anigha Crocker, the RCP presents “A Southern Christmas Carol” by Rob. Lauer. A joyous musical rework of the classic Dickens holiday story set in a small southern town during the Great Depression.
Auditions will be at Springfield High School Theater on Friday, October 24 from 5:30 until 8:00pm – if you arrive by 8:00pm you will be allowed to audition – and Saturday, October 25 from 10:00am until 1:00pm and 2:00p, until 4:00pm – if you arrive by 4:00pm you will be allowed to audition. Everyone is asked to perform a holiday song of your choice. An accompanist will be available but feel free to bring your own accompanist or CD. Dialog auditions will be cold reading from the script.
Production dates are December 4, 5, 6, 11, 12, 13 @ 7:00pm and December 6 @ 2:00pm in the Springfield High School Theater. There will possibly be daytime performances for the student body, faculty, and staff of Springfield High School between December 8-10 for one day only.
Vocal and speaking roles available for teens thru adults with a few children added. Children under the age of 12 will require a parent or other family member over 18 to also audition. Major roles include Scrooge (white male age 50+), Effie (African-American female age 40+), Tim (African-American male age 16-24), Jacob Marley (white male age 50+).
