The Hobbit - Audition Information

Save the date for the Roberson County Players second production of 2018 THE HOBBIT. The Hobbit Character Descriptions: Bilbo (M/F 17+) - The Hobbit and “hero” of the story. Commonsensical and fastidious, Bilbo possesses a great deal of untapped strength, courage, and initiative. Preferably a diminutive young to middle aged male, although women will be considered for this role. Thorin (M 20+) - Leads his fellow Dwarves in a quest to reclaim their treasure from the dragon Smaug. Thorin is a proud and sturdy warrior, if a bit stubborn. A young to middle aged male. Gandalf (M 30+) - Assists the dwarves, not least by recommending Bilbo for their journey. A wizard who always seems to know more than he reveals. A tall, middle aged to older male. Gollum (M/F 17+) - A strange creature who dwells in a cavern even goblins fear to enter, he cares only for his “precious”, a magic ring, and his next meal... whatever that may be. He loves riddles. A small male or female of any age. Elf Queen (F 17+) - Venerable leader of the elves of Mirkwood. Mistrustful of the dwarves, she only wants the elves’ rightful share of Smaug’s stolen treasure. Dwarves (M/F 17+) - Thorin’s group, composed of Fili, Kili, Dwalin, Balin, Oin, Gloin, Ori, Dori, Nori, Bifur, Bofur, and Bombur. All ages both male and female will be considered. An epic beard is a plus, but certainly not required! Elves (M/F 17+) - The first creatures in Middle-Earth. Immortal unless killed in battle, they are fair-faced, with beautiful voices, and have a close communion with nature. Preferably young women, although young men will be considered. Trolls (M/F 17+) - Short-tempered and dull-witted creatures who will eat just about anything. Two men and one woman of any age. Goblins (M/F 17+) - Evil creatures encountered by Bilbo and company. Men or women of any age. Be sure to check out the Facebook event for updated information!
