We are excited to announce the 2020 season for the Robertson County Players! Our first show, Candy Salad, will hold auditions NEXT WEEK (Dec 2 - 3). Information about auditions is provided below.
CANDY SALAD AUDITIONS
Auditions for RCPs first play of 2020, Candy Salad will take place December 2nd and 3rd at Springfield Middle School from 6-8pm.
Candy Salad is a comedy is based on real events. This is the directorial debut for Danielle Allen, an adult thriving with Cerebral Palsy. The play follows Rory Dawson, a teen with Cerebral Palsy, who is beginning his freshman year of college when he completes an assignment that will change he and his classmates lives for the better.
For Auditions, please bring your head shot and resume, along with a prepared 1 minute comedic monologue. There will also be cold readings from the script. A copy of the Candy Salad script is available at Stokes Brown Public Library for perusal.
Rehearsals will start January 6th and daytime school performances will be presented on February 21st. All other performances will be held on February 21st-23rd at Springfield Middle School.
February 21st & 22nd at 7pm and February 23rd at 2:00pm
Rory Dawson (male or female)-young adult who was born with Cerebral Palsy (CP), transitioning from his/her “normal” to the “real world”. The difficult moments make him/her stronger.
Zilla Dawson-older sibling of Rory, doesn’t treat him differently because of his disability.
Ava- classmate, compassionate to everyone, doesn’t know how to act around Rory.
Gia- another classmate, rude but gets shut down by others quickly.
Jaxon- the “all around good guy” on campus.
Emmett- Rory’s best friend, trying his hardest to guide Rory through the triumphs and struggles of the next chapter of their lives.
Professor Johns- the laid back professor of the photography class.
Nate- Rory’s new aide that is very timid but is trying to get comfortable.
Roles are open to actors 16 years-college age, and 1 adult
